Spirit is above and is the connecting point of the other four elements in some traditions. It is the embodiment of the alchemical phrase “As Above, So Below.” As we come to understand the four elements, we come closer to understanding divinity as their source. The fifth element, spirit, helps us stay connected to our higher power, our Gods and Goddesses, and the divine within.
The closest place to find the spirit is within oneself. Sitting quietly in meditation you can access the energy within yourself; the spark, the spirit. By visualizing this energy working its way through your body consciously move the energy to your hands. Now you can transfer that energy, that spirit, to your magical workings.
